Farming
Farming was very closely related to Feudalism and it was very heavy work. The image of a peasant working the fields for the entire day is an image that could logically appear for many, however it was only one of the many varying tasks they had to accomplish to maintain their farm and family.
A farmer's calendar

| January | Repairs(tools, structures), as well as making new ones if needed. Early crops were planted. |
| February | Ploughing the fields and fertilizing(with manure and/or marl) |
| March | More ploughing and spreading of fertilizers |
| April | Sowing and harrowing spring seeds |
| May | Digging ditches and first ploughing of fallow fields |
| June | Haymaking, second ploughing of fallow field, sheep-shearing |
| July | Haymaking, sheep-shearing, weeding of crops |
| August | Harvesting |
| September | Threshing, ploughing and pruning fruit trees |
| October | Last ploughing of the year |
| November | Butchering and smoking/salting animals for winter |
| December | Mending and making tools |
