Nidhogg's Den (Mt. Chilliad)
St. Marcos, sent to cleanse the bodies of the evil, to convert and warn the people of the world of it's lurking and hungry sins. St. Marcos, a man of god, bestowed upon the lands to do right and pray for the souls of innocence. Upon his arrival to the island of Kingdom of Flint Whenia, a modern kingdom to today's date, St. Marcos had a companionship by the name of Beatrice, a lizard, to aid in guiding lost persons on to the right path.
Upon spawning and making an appearance to the colonists, both Beatrice the lizard and St. Marcos dedicated a life's time worth converting the inhabitants of the island, however, one night, the spawning of a large Serpent by the name of Nidhogg makes an entry and approaches Beatrice the lizard. The Nidhogg, a creature of destruction, an evil Serpent who came to put an end to Beatrice's work and to offer power in exchange, from a lizard, ascending up the lineage into a dragon. However, the tribe's and inhabitants believed the Nidhogg was a large, angry dragon-like being that was intent on creating chaos in the universe. The colossal serpent was covered in colourful scales and had large horns protruding from his head. Legend's say this large serpent would gnaw away at the roots of the world with his large claws and forelegs in hopes that it would eat away enough to destroy the world.
The two, Nidhogg and Beatrice are of Serpent creatures thus creating an immediate bond, the havoc-causing gargantuan persuades Beatrice, the lizard's companion of St. Marcos to aid him instead. Beatrice, a strong-willed lizard and as a saint from god, denies the abomination's offer, and so Nidhogg the serpent becomes enraged, the results of his tantrum cost the inhabitants most of their live-stock. The Nidhogg would disappear by day and reappear at night to persuade the lizard, though as strong-willed as Beatrice was, the tainted burden Nidhogg would effectively but moderately make an affect on the lizard's honour and soul. The stigma of the Serpent was very radiating, anyone who had been around long enough would eventually become corrupt as well. Beatrice the lizard, visited once again by the Nidhogg, and is offered the exchange once more, the lizard, Beatrice, admittedly abandons the righteous path to god, defeated by the tainted entity and of it's aura of evil.
St. Marcos is wary however, of Beatrice's loyalty and the mere strange presence of the newly produced demon spawned entity, the lizard known as Beatrice had been untrue and disloyal in his time spent with his companion St. Marcos, and so Beatrice's addition to the devil's work is eventually strung up, caught of his evil-doings, Beatrice was shunned, St. Marcos, betrayed as ever sought to Beatrice's disobedience, cursing him with a life-time imprisonment inside of a mountain along with his converted followers, St. Marcos called it the Dragon's Den in reference to the Nidhogg's and Beatrice's Serpent lineage, and so then it was formed, a pathway to the peak of the mountain, to be an observer of such immoral beings.
The pathway, a walk one must take in his life time, to witness the true word of god and to cleanse one's soul. It was purposely designed for the inhabitants of Flint Whenia and the previous colonists and it's foreigners, a path created by god with the will of St. Marcos, a lesson to be learnt, a lesson to be witnessed. To the top of the Dragon's Den, legend's say the voices of the disturbed and entrapped are sometimes heard on the path to the peak, their souls, never to be cleansed, a lesson to witness and bear in mind, to defy god's ultimate word, and to turn yourself against god to begin the works of his rival will stray you further from the path of righteousness.
