Ironcrest is the largest town and most significant in all of Flintwhenia, the seat of the Duke of Flintwhenia and it is considered to be the Capital City of the island.
Named for its rich resources of iron, the town first only occupied miners who worked in the surrounding mines and eventually housed their families who migrated to what was now becoming a large trading hub for French, English and Scandinavian merchants.
History
Ironcrest was founded by Anglo-Saxon invaders on the site of an already-existing Flintwhenian city, which was founded in the early days of the island's civilization settling. Little is known about the initial settlement as most of the information was not recorded in any scrolls or other documents. The city maintained independence as a city-state but held significant influence over the surrounding villages and towns, often being the source to settle local tribal disputes.
According to the first inhabitants of the city, it was the optimal location to extract iron and ship it throughout the sea to other European countries. Despite great amounts of wealth being traded around, the city knew a lot of wars throughout its history - mainly fought by local clans seeking to dominate it.
